Patrick had a MAJOR project at work over the long weekend. I took this opportunity to beg my sisters for some tech support. In an attempt to find fun things for the boys and more importantly me to do, i thought we would celebrate Chinese New Year with Scrumpy's first trip to Dim Sum.
I didn't really think about the fact that it was Chinese New Year and that the Dim Sum Restaurant would be packed, but luckily for us, they churned and burned tables at an alarming rate. First thing that Scrumpy noticed was the noise, or should I say din. He actually yelled "QUIET" in the restaurant. While I would have normally been alarmed, the restaurant was indeed so loud that no one heard him.
He was interested in the chopsticks and in the moving carts. He sampled a pork bun when I told him it was a donut, but stopped eating once he got to the pork. He enjoyed toasting with tea cups, but other than that, he was perfectly happy munching on his goldfish.
After lunch, we went to burn off some more energy so we walked to a cafe where Auntie Mitch treated him to an eclair- his kind of lunch. All in all he was tuckered out. Mission accomplished!
So much for this celebration. He did cap off the evening though with 4 bowls of pork fried rice. There is hope for him yet.
